Filtration, purification, ventilation and whole-home dehumidification for Palm Beach County homes and businesses. In this climate the air quality problem is usually a moisture problem, and filters alone will not fix it.

What We Do
Advanced Cooling and Heating is a licensed Florida HVAC contractor (License #CAC057209), established in 1996, designing and installing indoor air quality systems across Palm Beach County and Southeast Florida. Because cooling runs almost year-round here, your HVAC system is continuously circulating every particle and every bit of moisture in the building through the same ductwork.
That constant circulation is what makes air quality an HVAC question rather than a cleaning question. Dust, pollen and humidity do not settle and stay settled — they get picked up and redistributed. And unlike drier climates, the moisture travelling with them gives microbial growth somewhere to establish itself, typically in the coil or the return plenum.
So we assess before we specify. Humidity level, filtration capacity against the system's static pressure, airflow balance, coil condition and ventilation. Those five determine which equipment will actually help. Fitting a purifier to a system with a drainage problem treats the smell and leaves the cause.
The Options
Air quality is rarely solved by one device. These work together, and which combination you need depends on what the assessment finds.
The one most Florida properties benefit from most. Removes moisture independently of cooling, so humidity comes down without overcooling the house. Dehumidifiers.
Captures finer particles than a standard filter, specified against your system's airflow so it does not choke it. Filtration systems.
Correctly sized media for non-standard filter racks, which is more common in older Palm Beach County homes than you would expect. Custom filters.
Targets microbial growth at the coil and drain pan, where the moisture is. Treats the source of musty odors rather than masking them. Coil purification.
Whole-home purification working with the air handler to reduce airborne contaminants as air circulates. Purification systems.
Brings in fresh air while recovering energy from the air going out — ventilation without simply importing heat and humidity. ERV installation.
What You Notice
Most of these get blamed on cleaning, allergies or the weather. In this climate they are usually the HVAC system telling you something about moisture or airflow.
That specific combination almost always means the system is cooling but not dehumidifying — often because it is oversized and short cycles, so it never runs long enough to pull moisture out.
Adding a purifier will not touch it. A dehumidifier or a sizing correction will.
Get It AssessedManaging indoor humidity helps reduce mold risk, improve comfort, and support efficient HVAC operation. Whole-home dehumidifiers and ERV ventilation systems help maintain balanced moisture levels, which prevents excess humidity from circulating through the HVAC system.
Custom filters help ensure that all circulating air passes through the filtration media rather than bypassing the filter. This improves particle capture, reduces dust circulation, and helps maintain cleaner indoor air throughout the home or building.
ERV systems improve indoor air quality by removing stale air that contains dust, odors, and airborne contaminants while introducing filtered outdoor air. This controlled ventilation helps reduce indoor pollutant buildup and keeps indoor air feeling fresher.
Bathroom fans and open windows remove air but do not provide balanced ventilation. This can create negative pressure that pulls humid outdoor air into the building. ERV systems maintain balanced airflow by bringing fresh air in at the same rate stale air is exhausted.
In Florida’s humid climate, controlling airborne contaminants and moisture can improve comfort, protect HVAC equipment from excess strain, and reduce microbial growth potential. IAQ improvements are often beneficial for long-term system performance.
From emergency AC repairs and refrigerant leak detection to full HVAC system replacement, ductwork installation, heat pump service, and indoor air quality solutions, our HVAC technicians are ready to respond.
If you are experiencing no cooling, system failure, electrical issues, or AC leaks, call now for priority dispatch at 561-697-4247.
Do not wait on that one. A musty odor from the vents means moisture is sitting somewhere it should not be, and growth spreads through the ductwork the whole time the system runs. Call and we will find the source.
