Summer Savings Energy Tips

Your HVAC unit can account for almost HALF of your energy bill. In the South Florida summer, the average outdoor temperature has a direct correlation with your energy consumption, as your air conditioner runs for longer periods to keep your home cool.

Tips for Energy savings

  1. Keep your thermostat at 78˚ degrees when you are home, and raise to 82 when outside the home
  2. Use a fan to cool the room you are in, but turn off when you aren’t home
  3. Close shades and blinds to keep out the sun
  4. Grill outside to keep your kitchen cool
  5. Maintain proper airflow by keeping interior doors open
  6. Clean or replace your A/C filters regularly
  7. Consider a high efficiency unit when replacing your old unit.
